May 28th thru June 15th 2012.

We had a wind down week before a week off for half term break so he did some Conquer maths and some English work and reading, did some Geography work about the UK, WW2 work about life as a little French boy in occupied France, Science was about the 'Grow your Own Potatoes' and also pollution. On the Thursday we went to watch The Welsh Open at Celtic Manor and the Friday was a sad day as we said goodbye to my grandad. The Saturday we went back to The Welsh Open with Ponty Golf Club Juniors.

We had a weeks break the following week filled with lots of playing golf and practicing golf.

This week we we are back to learning....Monday was Maths and it was measuring, English was writing a biography about someone he admired so he did it about Ricky Fowler, Geography is something new ive decided to do, it combines his love of gaming with the countries on the games so we have started with all his Xbox games and made a list of all the countries game by game and for each one for Geography he researches the real country and its traditions, people etc, he also then cooks from that country n also does a project about it and compares the real country with the game country.....this week was Sao Paulo so he researched the country and its people, traditions etc. Then we went to the golf range as it was too wet for the course. Tuesday was more math and measuring, English was reading and an Autobiography and also a C.V. History was more WW2 work and also we watched the film 'Saving Private Ryan' together as part of the work. Science was on Studyladder all about animal habitat and camouflage etc. Wednesday was a flexi day...front nine on the golf course and it was the best Jordan has ever played....44 with no handicap taken off, plus plenty of maths on the course working out yardages and also Science watching the bird of prey, the ducks, the squirrels and the heron. Then we went home via the photographer who has been involved in his silver art award work to pick up a letter of a review about his work. Today was Maths and measuring but he was really struggling so he had a swap to Studyladder to have a break from measuring, English was reading and persuasive writing, then he did his project which this week was to compare the real Sao Paulo to the game Sao Paulo. We did cookery then and it was Brazilian food.....Lime Chicken wraps and Coconut Truffles.....lovely for lunch. Tomorrow is English which will be reading and persuasive writing and maths which will be a mix of Conquer Maths and Studyladder then if the rain holds of golf n play the back nine otherwise the range then youth in the evening.

April 30th-May 25th 2012.

Have had so much happen recently ive not had a chance to update this, have unfortunately and sadly lost both my Nan and my Granddad over the last few weeks. In between visits to the hospital and one funeral (one is next week) and J's appointments at various departments we have fitted in lots of learning. He has done lots of English work including meanings of sayings such as 'under the weather' etc, apostrophes and punctuation etc and also started a new reading book... 'Jack Nicklaus-My Story'......he is a famous golfer and it is his biography. Maths has been lots of success working on Conquer Maths including conquering fractions which has been his nemesis for years in mainstream school. Geography has been ongoing work about the Rainforest tho he has now completed this and also learning about the EDO tribe but I have an idea for another on going Geography idea which would combine his love of consoles games as they are all based in different countries...more on that when ive figured it out. Science has been more work about his 'Grow your own Potatoes'...they look like triffids lol, also learnt about various reptiles. History is still W.W.2 based....he had to think about being a child in an air raid shelter in London then write an imaginary diary about how it was, make a W.W.2 poster about 'Make do and Mend', he has written an imaginary evacuee letter home and also researched about occupied Singapore and written about how it would have been. He stayed a weekend at my parents and while there did cookery and made a Spanish Chicken and Chorizo dish. Lots of silver art award work like planning lessons, researching about an exhibition and then visiting that exhibition and writing a report on it etc. He also played a gold competition with Disabled Golf Society Wales and came 4th place on a count-back.He has played lots of golf besides which included learning on the course be it Maths and working out yardages or Science watching the birds of prey or the squirrels.

Silver Art Award work.

Art was to draw his version of a painting by Andre Derain. In the evening it was his golf lesson.

Wednesday we went to the golf range again as weather was too bad to go on the course. Then in the afternoon he did Maths which was fractions, money and mental maths. Then history was WW2 food, planning a party with WW2 food and comparing my shopping list with what you could buy then.

Thursday he made an information leaflet about his favorite game and did some book work for English, Maths was whole numbers and subtraction, for Project work he started The Tudor Time Traveler so took a walk around our area looking for everything that a Tudor visitor would find odd and not have seen before etc. Then it was cookery and he made Mississippi Mud Pie.

Friday he did some mental strategy for Maths and then bookwork for English then as the weather was so bad back up the range. While there the pro told him there was an award in the shop for him to pick up that he had won whilst a member at that club last year so he picked the award up on the way home.
