Nov 19th till Nov 30th.

We have both been unwell over the last few weeks so been a funny few weeks.....stuck with the envelope idea as it was easier for both with us taking it in turns to feel rough. He had a great weekend at his grandparents n took photos to work on.

The rest of things are taken up with the usual English, Maths etc and golf in among the rain and illness lol. And J has joined a group on Facebook for home schooled kids and its a weekly challenge with photography....first week was music, this week is broken.

Monday 14th till Friday 18th Nov 2011.

Decided this week to try a different approach to learning that ive heard other home educators do and that's envelopes and the child works thru them in their own order. He still had the same topics for each day but the envelopes were on the table and he chose what to do when so long as they were all done.

Tuesday was home ed group, it was Space themed and we had rocks and stuff from the moon etc and someone gave a speech too.

Wednesday was more envelopes lol and we also went on a walk round Ynyshir looking for any Victorian buildings, we had tried the internet but didn't find much, we were shocked how hard it was to find out about Victorian buildings in our area but managed to find two.

Thursday was the usual lessons then p.e. in the afternoon n he had a lesson with the pro and them played 5 holes n played amazingly and did a massive drive on hole 1 :)

Friday was a shortened day of learning and reading then some time at the golf range then over to his nan n granddads in the evening.

Went on a field trip today to the Heritage park to learn about life in the early 1900's and down thru the time of coal-mining.

Thursday 10th November 2011

Had a flexi/autonomous day today...did maths etc on the golf course and took J to play nine holes while doing maths on the course and ended up covering Science and Geography aswell. As always he played amazingly :)

Wednesday 9th November 2011

English was some comprehension type work getting him to write full sentences. Then he did Geography and enjoyed using his globe to find countries linked to the book work. Maths was a nightmare washout....he just couldn't do the percentages to fractions n visa versa in the KS2 book so didn't bother in the end. Did history then all about Remembrance Day and Poppies etc and he designed a poster. Then Science was hilarious.....made a skeleton but it spent half the time deformed as bits were put on wrong lol. Got there in the end tho then had a laugh looking at the science book that came with it full of fun facts.

Tuesday 8th November 2011

Home ed group today, mad dash in the morning as Jordan was in fancy dress and I had plates of sarnies too make. The theme was W.W2/V.E Day street party as it is Remembrance Sunday week. The over tens boys were army n over tens girls were land girls and under tens were evacuees. The kids looked awesome. Lots of stuff to do, make poppies for the wall, colour poppy bookmarks etc plus the 'streetparty' at snack-time. Jordan also went over the park with a bunch of the group and also one of the older girls was showing him some basics on the piano which he loved. Fantastic day :)

Monday 7th November 2011.

Went up to play the front nine, it was perishingly cold but he played superbly...cleared the 1st gorge again and did a massive 172 yard drive on another hole and almost cleared the other massive gorge on hole 6 :) He did a bit of autonomous learning then mainly maths and changing currencies like dollars to pounds etc.

Awesome drive.....this is were it landed after clearing the gorge on hole 1....he is facing back to the tee looking how far he hit it.

Friday 4th to Sunday 6th November 2011

Did the usual English n Maths then science and Jordan did about the layers of the earth.

Didn't do a lot on Saturday as I had a blinding headache so we just went to visit my parents for a bit and J was chatting to my dad about what he can do with Photoshop :)

Sunday J went to Sunday school in the morning and they practised the Xmas play and wrapped presents for children in Romania. In the afternoon I took him to play the short course up Ponty and he was pleased cos he cleared the gorge for the second time :)

Thursday 3rd November 2011

Did English n Maths and also 'J led lessons' were he did research on Albert Einstein and Cheetahs, he was amazed to find out that Albert Einstein most likely had Autism like him, then the cheetahs he made a Save the Cheetah poster. Had P.E. then so went up to a very cold n wind swept range but too wet to play outdoors. He enjoyed it and played well :)

Did the usual English n Maths plus some history then it was cookery time, this week was Chewy Coconut Squares.......J was great n did it all cos my hand was bad....he was extra careful with the hot stuff. The Squares were lovely n super more-ish but J didn't like them lol.

Home Ed group today and is was a 'Sparkle' theme with it being bonfire night week so lots of different things on the go, crayon fire works, glitter fireworks etc and chocolate finger sparklers :) And to top it off hot-dogs for snack :)
