Oct 15th thru Nov 4th 2012.
Sorry sorry......lax again with updating the blog.
Lots of Conquer Maths and so proud of him cos he has gone up a year with his maths :) Lots of English work covering all sorts...poems, fact finding, letter writing etc, more work on the Romans lap-book for history, learning about Sharks and the differences between them etc, making home made pizzas, Halloween round the world, learnt about Bavaria and created a Bavarian house on Minecraft, opticians appointment and audiology appointments, treat of a round of golf at Celtic Manor on the Roman road (well it had to be really when he is doing a lap-book on the Romans), had his ears pierced and then a weeks break and an under 13s game against Llantrisant n him n Alex won and then three massive days of golf...first day was the Club Championship and they moved him up to do 18 holes of white competition tees and he scored fantastically then the next two days were Ponty's 'Ryder Cup' and he played 18 again both days off whites...first day with Ethan n they won n the second day by himself and he really dug deep and stayed calm n won the game....incredibly proud of him :)

Oct 8th til Oct 12th 2012.
Monday was Conquer Maths and Mass, English was reading and creating words and History was Romans lap-book then golf and Jordan tried Hole 2 on The Lakes off the White tees and did the hole in 6....its a par 5 :)
Tuesday was my nans funeral so not really a day to do any learning.
Wednesday was more Conquer Maths only this time was Digital and Analogue time, English was reading and Similes and Science was a lap-book about Dogs but he only did half of it then golf and he did the same Hole again in 6 so was pretty chuffed :)
Thursday was more Conquer Maths and English was more reading and Similes and Geography was a lap-book about the Blue Mountains.
Friday he was meant to play a Disabled Golf Society big competition but it was cancelled so he finished his Science then the rest of the day was autonomous.

Sept 17th thru Oct 5th 2012.
Oooops been lax on this blog of late.
Week one consisted of lots of Math doing volume and time. English included reading and story writing. Geography was weather and the climate effect, History was WW2 shelters, Science was sound and also magnets. Cookery was from Turkey and he also made a travel pamphlet for Turkey. He also had audiology this week n they finally fitted him with a hearing aid, albeit he needs two but one is better than nothing. And of course the usual golf and also a day out down Merthyr Mawr sand-dunes He was also on telly briefly when the Disabled British Open aired on Sky sports.
Week two Math covered analogue and digital time and mass. English was more reading and imaginative story writing and then homophones. Geography was clouds and cloud form. Science was magnets, liquids n solids etc and electric currents, History was he last WW2 piece about kids in various WW2 countries and also Rhondda during WW2. For cookery he made Nigella Lawsons Mother in laws Madeira Cake. He also had camhs and podiatry appointments this week as well and obviously played golf. We didn't do any learning on the Friday as my Nan passed away Thursday.
This week has not been quite so structured as feeling delicate after the loss of my Nan. Math was still mass. English was reading. The rest was lap-books ...were have these been all our home ed time!!??!! They can cover Math, English, Geog, Art...pretty much everything. He did a few mini ones like about Mountains, Wales and Beaches and also started a big one which is his history project about the Romans. He also did a practice round at Rhondda golf club ready for a competition next week. He topped it off by going to his friends party last night.

Sept 10th -Sept 14th 2012.
Back to learning today. Monday was Maths and money problems and volume worksheets to recap on stuff, English was reading and persuasive and report writing, History was WW2 and he wrote about a night in an Anderson Shelter, what he would take with him and what he would do etc. Then he went to play some golf for fresh air and exercise.
Tuesday was a free day and he had a free round on the Wales National course, maths all the way round working out distances and yardages etc.
Wednesday was Maths were he did Fractions and Time then Cubic cm measuring on Conquer Maths. English was reading and then descriptive writing. Geography was a fact worksheet about the World.
Thursday was more Conquer Maths work, English he had to plan out a short story ready to write the story, Science was about liquids in their varied states, Cookery was Afghan Biscuits....very tasty but very fattening ;)

Summer Break...July 7th til Sept 9th 2012
As well as appointments about tourettes and starting medication and also appointments to try and sort hearing aids as his hearing is so bad there's been a whole ton of golf....a game with the Disabled Golf Society at Morlais Castle.... ummm wet n windy is about the best description for that one. Disabled Golf Society Wales team game (J was chosen to play for Wales) against Summerhill which was a fantastic opportunity and J won his match-play game. He played for the Pontypridd Under 13's team at Llantrisant were Ponty won. He played lots of golf in between just for fun on his home course. The biggest two events were the Junior Disabled British Open, a two day event which has been filmed for Sky and will be on Sky sports on the 18th and 19th of this month. And also in August Jordan turned 13 :)
Back to learning now and Jordan has also started back to the church youth group too :)

June 25th til July 6th 2012.
Lots of maths covering all sorts of topics, lots of reading of his book...a biography by Jack Nicklaus, more WW2 work for History, Geography was Washington D.C one week and the other week was Catalunya, Lots of persuasive writing, grow your own potatoes work for Science, cookery was Pecan pie one week and Honey Chicken the other week, and of course golf....esp Mon July 2nd when he played Brynmeadows with the disabled golf society and won :) Learning on a large scale is taking a break til Sept but lots of stuff happening thru the summer break.

June 18th - June 22nd 2012.
Lots of Math mainly angles, corners, symmetry etc plus yardages on the golf course. English was report writing, persuasive work and worksheets plus reading. Geography this week was about Russia as was his project and cookery....for cookery he made Stroganoff. Science was various book-work. Plenty of golf aswell at Ponty and also The Vale.
